Hi, I’m Sophie Shumate, owner of Southern Sparkle and Shears. I graduated from LeGrande Institute of Cosmetology in 2024 and officially launched my business on January 1, 2025. Hair has been my passion since I was a little girl, and turning that passion into a career has been a dream come true. I specialize in blonding and extensions, and I truly love the creativity and confidence this industry allows me to bring to each guest. While I also adore all things beauty—including skin and nails—my current focus is delivering exceptional hair services tailored to every client who sits in my chair. I strive to create a welcoming, fun, and uplifting experience where every guest feels valued, heard, and treated like family. I can’t wait to welcome you and help you feel your absolute best.

At Southern Sparkle and Shears, our motto is: “It’s more than beauty, it’s a sparkle.” The name actually comes from my grandpa, who used to tell me as a little girl, “Never let anyone dull your sparkle.” That saying has always stayed with me—it’s like my life quote. When I started my business, I wanted to share that same message with the world. Every client who sits in my chair is reminded that no matter how tough life gets, your sparkle is yours to keep. My goal isn’t just to make you look beautiful—it’s to make you feel confident, empowered, and reminded of your own sparkle.
